Hi Taylor, thank you for passing by and pointing out the typo! It is funny, Brad had a conversation on his blog last week around this subject of proofreading. I now join the hall of shame with missing a typo on my blog, the one thing I catch when reading anything else! I am sure it was my copy and paste skills and not Brad's error so dear readers and Brad forgive me!

Hi. Just passing through when my obsessive editorial-ness demanded that I mention a typo in your personal description.

"warth"

Which could be "wrath" with transposed letters,
or, more likely, "warmth" with the missing "m."

Although, "communicating even complex subjects with wrath and humor" would be a pretty interesting skill... perhaps even marketable.

Melissa, sounds like you've overcome your sales fears - congratulations. And thanks for reading the series. Yvonne, I'm still debating whether to expand these ideas into a book. Thanks for your encouragement. Karen, thanks for posting my series. Your graphics took it up a notch!

Melissa, as I read your post I of course related. I went through the same struggle. It is interesting that even after we have followed the pricing practices used by corporations (research, competitive analysis, etc) we still internalize the process and allow rejection to shake our confidence. I don't know any new freelancer who has not struggled with this issue. Thanks for the great comment!

Yvonne, I am so glad it was useful. Brad is truly in his element when discussing sales. :-)

When I first started my writing business, I was always afraid that clients would reject my proposals because of my rates. At first, I was worried they'd think my rates were too high. As I learned the industry, I started becoming concerned they'd think my rates were too low. After almost a year, much of this fear has passed and I don't worry at all when I send a quote to a new client.
