Sharing the Love

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity and I sometimes find myself days behind on reading. The wonderful thing about the web is the doors are always open. Blog authors welcome reading and commenting whether the post is brand new or months old. So here are just a few of my choice finds this week:

This humorous but profound post truly struck a chord. If you have ever failed to admit you needed help or been the helper who was refused you will love this hot and steamy story on Divine Purpose Unleashed.

Kelly celebrated her 300th post and has added to her delicious menu of offerings.  Her MCE Round Table is a banquet fit for royalty. I love the links she serves up, often tasty tidbits that I missed.

SmallBizBee got my attention when they asked: How Well do you Know Your Lover? Don’t be fooled by the title this post is all business and will help you to reconsider the ones who love you most.

Robyn McMaster shares Writing Lessons From Social Media Commnunity and in sharing her own learning offers a wealth of productive thinking points and ideas for digital content producers.  I found myself revisiting the list and taking note of things I could do.

Michelle Awuku provides us with a formula for success in Action+Persistence =Forward Movement. Michelle advises that wisdom is action.  I loved that statement because wisdom that is not acted upon truly is just a bunch of stuff in your head!

There were far too many great posts to read but I promise to share more often.

What are you reading this week? Feel free to your own favorites in the comments.

    Karen,

Thanks for mentioning me when I know you’ve got a lot going on in your world! I agree, my favorite thing is the doors-always-open aspect of blogging. I might be late to the party now and then, but it’s nice to know that the party will wait for me. :)

*Had* to go read How Well do you Know Your Lover? first thing—great title, and it is a neat article. Off to check out the others now!

    Regards,

    Kelly

  3. Apparently, I’m reading YOU this week. :)

I’ve been pretty crazy the last few weeks too. Lots to do and little time to read and post. That said, I do find myself always making time to visit friends like you, Joanna Young, and Alex Fayle. I’m also making my way through a collection of Japanese folktales translated for children c. 1949 by Yoshiko Uchida and finally settling in to John Klima’s Electric Velocipede.

    How’s that for variety?

p.s. Loved your Blog Talk Radio session this week. It was a lot of fun to listen to you and Trish. Swimbert ahoy!

Hi Brad! Today was a great reading day! I loved Joanna’s post but I also loved your post. I shared both on Twitter. :-) I hope everyone will take a moment to savor both!

Hi Kelly, in a busy world there’s always time to take a moment and acknowledge the wonderful inspiration you find. Thanks for shining that huge spotlight from your corner of the globe, truly magical.

    Laters,

    Karen :-)

Jamie, you really do wear that halo well! :-) I am so glad you’re reading and listening and trust me your support is always felt and appreciated. I feel the flutter of your wings every time I turn on my computer. :-) Japanese folktales? Oooh, that sounds really interesting, hmmm, any chance those are library finds? I’ll have to look.

  7. @Karen They are indeed library finds. The stories are beautiful but check out the preface. Remember this is a translation from 1949, consider the context:

“It is my hope that along with the folk tales of other lands, this will awaken in readers the realization that all children, in whatever country they may live, have the same love of fun and a good story. I hope, too, that in their own way, they will help to increase among our children a feeling of respect for and understanding of the cultural heritage of other countries and peoples. It is in such small and simple beginnings that I rest my hopes for the creating of ‘one world.’”

  8. Thanks for the mention for our Naked in the Sauna post! I’ve turned the post into a speech too. I’m hoping to present it at the Social Media Summit. (see the last post).. It was funny and sad at the same time.
I notice I WAS following you, then wasn’t following you, but I think tweetdeck drops followers sometimes? Following again!

Checking out all the other resources above now. Thanks!

  9. Karen, in your Link Love thanks for pointing article I wrote on ways I’ve learned more about writing from other bloggers. It was a challenge to do this because I keep learning from others in the blogging community that I’ve come to know. Glad this helped you see something, too. :-)

  10. I’m a pretty avid follower of blogs, but I’ve only heard of 2 out of the 5. I’ll be checking them out this weekend. Your post reminds me that I need to create a link love post. So many great writers to share, I just don’t know where to begin.
