I had to check two calendars because I did not believe it was true but it is June! Hard to believe but we are halfway through the year 2009.
It’s the time of year when we relax and reset. I spent the weekend taking time off and thinking about the things I want to accomplish this month. It was a perfect time to get a boost of inspiration from Alex Fayle’s Someday My Ship Will Come In e-book and widen my lens to believe for bigger things.
I also made time to just sit and watch the ducks frolic, the birds sing and blades of grass grow.
This month will be a mix of business and pleasure. Together we’ll explore tips and tools to help you reach your business and personal goals. We’ll make time for summer reading, and take some time to work on our writing goals. June is the perfect month to explore new writing markets, submit our work, create that info product, polish that website and edit that long neglected novel.

Karen,
My main goal for June is to sell some books. I’m running a special offering a free e-book of an unpublished romance novel to anyone who buys Dream or Destiny this month. I’ve had wonderful reviews and comments from readers, but I’m not making any best-seller lists.
Although I don’t expect to actually make a best-seller list, I’d like to have a surge of sales this month.
Book marketing tips, anyone?

Lillie, I am working with a couple of authors and selling those books does seem to take an army! How about teaming up with someone local and having a contest. The prize could be the book and perhaps something complimentary (I’m rather fond of spa days)
A great contest can also get local publicity and visibility helps sell books.
I hope others have ideas as we can all use them! I would love to have a surge in sales for ebook too!
Karen,
Sounds like you have an exciting month lined up here, and I certainly look forward to reading what you have to say in terms of those tips to reach our goals!

Karen,
Thanks for the suggestion.
I’m actually planning two promotions in the coming months.
This month, I am giving away the free e-book of another story to anyone who purchases a copy of Dream or Destiny. I bought some author copies to sell direct so I can offer autographed copies. Everyone who buys from me or e-mails me a receipt from Amazon or the publisher will get a copy of the e-book of an unpublished contemporary romance. All the names will be put into a drawing for a virtual gift basket of e-books as well and one name drawn at the end of the month. Not a spa certificate, but hopefully appealing to readers.
Although I don’t have the details worked out, I plan to have a promotion in October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I hope to have a local booksigning and donate a portion of the sales to the local battered women’s shelter. Since abuse is such an important part of the story, I think it will be a good tie-in, perhaps generating some local publicity that will be good for the book and for the shelter.

My goal for the month is getting most of the next ebook I’ll Get Around To It Someday written. Glad the first one has helped you refocus the rest of the year for you!
And yay to frolicking ducks!

Karen, time does fly these days, doesn’t it? Midyear already and I still don’t know where winter holidays went
In June, my major goal is to finally move into the new house and stop commuting. But that doesn’t depend on me, so I will focus on posting more, working more, getting more of the novel out of my brain and down on paper
I think the well deserved break will come later on, maybe in July!

June!
Well, this month I am striving for two things:
1. I am launching a new iPhone game called WordFlipper (just went live today)
2. I am trying to get written goals and a plan together for a new company.
3. I’m trying to relax with my kids.
I think the best support the community could bring would be to remind me that #3 is more important than #1 or #2.

I’m with Jamie. There are two goals for this month.
1) Get the last of the post move organizing done now that Hubby’s off for the summer.
2) Complete at least the first half of the rewrite and polish on Right of Succession. I want to get this one off to agents before the end of 2009, so badly!

Karen,
as I will be away for one week at the end of June my first goal is to get enough posts scheduled for that week.
My second goal is to do some steps toward publishing a short piece of fiction on my blog – maybe a short story to be continued in two or three posts. I’ve got some ideas in my mind, but I have to work on them.
My third goal is to do some sketching and drawing.

My goals this month are to not see SNOW anymore.
(Dont’ laugh, we had some Sunday).
Aside from that, I have no other goals. .
Whatever happens, happens.
Friar´s last blog post..The Dog who Came Back
Hi Everyone! Sorry for the long delay. Had a bit of an iron deficiency this week which had me struggling to make it through the day. Now on the upward swing and should be back to a normal schedule next week. I have been reading your goals and adding them to a list. I am determined to offer you continued support and resources so that we can all celebrate achievements.
@Friar, I can’t do anything about the snow but I’ll keep a nice supply of hot chocolate on hand just in case.
Yeah, it is pretty crazy that June is here. I couldn’t believe it either!
My goals for this month? Hmmm…. I think if I can accomplish as much as (or more than) I did last month and keep dreaming, working toward my goals, and learning as I continue my journey, I’ll be happy.
*smiles*

My goals this month:
1. Launch a project that will help my readers become happier at work.
2. Prepare for a work happiness presentation that I will be taping for my portfolio.
3. Connecting with people who I always learn something new from – that’s why I’m here
4. Work on an ebook that I want to launch this fall
I really enjoyed sharing with you. It’s nice to put it out there, in a different community. Thanks!
