Simply the Best?

The gracious Joanna Young invited everyone to reflect upon this past year of blogging and select their best post from 2008. Now I must admit when I saw the title Simply the Best I wondered how Joanna would tie Tina Turner to writing. I still sing the song every time I read the title (ha ha now you will too) but I digress. My first thought was my best post is the one I have not yet written but I can’t link to an empty page so I had to pick from what had already been created.

So without further ado, the post I selected is Truth or Madness Monday. This post is simply the best because the community shaped it with active discussion and insightful comments. It was fun to write but the participation was even better.

Reading through my archives made me realize the wonders of blogging. There are posts that reflect my “best” writing to date, others that have my “best ideas” and still others that are average but have the “best” number of comments.Β  Most of all it inspired me toΒ  learning, growing and experimenting.

How would you describe your best? The Simply the Best Writing Project is open until December 24. I hope you’ll join in too!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Psssttt…something really BIG is happening over at the Zone. I have been sworn to secrecy but I can give you a hint, the target is 100. I’ve said too much already but stay tuned, all will be revealed on December 21. Uh oh, I think I hear Robert coming, shhh, don’t tell him I told ya!

Oh yes, I remember that post – it was so much fun to read (both times!) and so creative it tickled my mind! Perfect choice πŸ˜‰

Hi Karen – Great choice. That was an interesting post and creative post and it did spark a good discussion. I didn’t get time to enter the competition, as I already had my posts planned ahead up until Christmas.

    Karen,
I would be hard-pressed to pick “simply the best” among your outstanding posts.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Christmas!

Hey Karen, I’m loving it!! What a time for reflection, eh? Now I’m gonna have to get myself over to Joanna’s blog and read all about this (while I secretly wonder what our hat-tipping friend is up to…hmmm)……………… Sir Starbucker sent me on a similar trip through memory lane the other morning… those trips through the archives are grand, eh? πŸ™‚

    Karen,

That was the first time I have read that particular entry.

It was certainly a very original post and one which cannot help but stimulate some interesting thought.

    Nice choice.

    Karen,

You are so right. If I had to pick one that stands out in my mind, Truth or Madness Monday would be right up there. That was a zinger post!

You’re right, now I have Tina Turner in my head. πŸ™‚

    Regards,

    Kelly

Joanna, it was interesting to separate “best” from “favorite.” My opinion of favorite differs from what a reader may have enjoyed. This project was fun and singing Tina Turner has been a bonus! πŸ™‚

Awww! Hey, you startled me! What? What’s that? Secrets? I didn’t say anything. πŸ™‚

Interesting choice, Karen, and I remember that was one that took you out of your comfort zone when you published it. I guess that’s often where the best of our material comes from

And yes, I’ve been singing Tina Turner all month too!

    (sneaks in behind you) BOO!

    Hah, scared ya didn’t I? πŸ˜€

Hey, great choice, Karen – I liked that one too. Great discussion. Even though I, um, sorta forgot, er, to comment… :-O

Yup; all will be revealed this Sunday!
